I'm a journalist who tells stories through code. I make interactive storytelling experiences, trackers, scrapers and news games.
I think it's the most fun job in the newsroom, but I'm biased.
I created a landing page for our magazine's take on the finest Boston has to offer, which included a filterable grid of categories and an interactive map. Since publication, it has consistently been in the top 3 stories that convert readers to subscribers.

The Globe newsroom collaborated with HBO Max to bring this multimedia package to life. We provided the web presentation and eight interactive story pages. This project won multiple first-place, national awards (ONA: Best Feature, Murrow: Best News Documentary, Dart Award, IRE: Longform Journalism).

When we received data on the MA RMV's rejected vanity plates, we decided to make a story with an extra lift. Can you guess why these license plates were rejected? When I make quizzes like these, they always are high drivers of engagement on our site.

We were tasked with creating an visualizer of a $31B proposed infrastructure project. When the Army Corps of Engineers sent us JPGs of their 3D rendering, I requested the model itself, and created a 3D fly-through experience. This project won an award for best online package (TX Managing Editors).

While at the Houston Chronicle, we created an award-winning deep dive into the deadly concert, complete with a visualization that made sense of the crowded and chaotic night (Scripps Award).

I work with journalists from all newsroom departments to make their stories interactive. This includes coding news games, trackers, landing pages, and scrollytelling experiences.
I created interactive storytelling experiences, trackers, scrapers and news games. My job moved to 100% coding.
I performed data analysis and visualization for the Chronicle's data team, in addition to writing and reporting on data-related stories.
I managed our CMS and was in charge of newsleetter design. I started ramping up my developer and data skills on the side.
I designed the print edition of our quarterly magazine. I also produced podcasts as the audio engineer.
I did a little bit of everything, from reporting to video editing and fact-checking for the opinion section.
I was a design intern at the Tribune and a reporter/editor at USA Today in their opinion section. This was my first foray into print media.
